Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This Sangiovese exhibits fresh aromas of violets, woodland berries, sweet spice and leather. Deliciously smooth, plush and juicy on the palate with loads of ripe fruit, Di Majo Sangiovese is recommended with meaty pastas or pizzas, chorizo and granular cheeses such as ParmigianoReggiano or aged Gouda.

"The 2009 Sangiovese Terre degli Osci is rich and full-bodied in its dark cherries, plums, cinnamon, cola and chocolate. This is a decidedly rich Sangiovese layered with generous oak, but within this style it is an attractive wine. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014. "

Style: Smooth & Supple
This is an absolutely delightful Sangiovese at an outstanding price! I have had many Sangiovese's and Chianti's that cost much more than this wine, but did not provide near the same experience. Full bodied, deep colored, good legs - just feels and tastes wonderful as you drink it. Whip up your best pasta dish and enjoy! Heck, at this price you could even class up a pizza with it!

Love the Norante wines. This one is the basic offering and is solid and very good. Try their Ramitello which is excellent.
