Winemaker Notes
Bernard Teillaud bought the Domaine de Saint Michel d’Esclans, famous for its wine, in May 2005. The estate was previously owned by the royal family of Monaco. Bernard knew the property very well since it had belonged to his family from 1956 to 1978 and inspired the family's passion for wine.
The chateau was re-baptized Chateau Des Demoiselles after the Demoiselles de Provence who were the four daughters of Raimond Bérenger, last count of Provence and Toulouse, living in the early 13th century. The daughters gave their names to several places in Provence besides Domaine des Demoiselles. The four women had royal destinies with each one of them eventually crowned queen.
In 2007, Bernard sold his vineyards to his daughters, Delphine and Aurélie. Aurélie Bertin takes now care of the estate.
