Syrah/Shiraz from Rhone, France
The wine has a deep ruby color with purple tinges. Its nose shows aromas of blackberries and spices, lifted by some mineral and gently wooded notes. Well concentrated, this has pure flavors that come to the palate in successive layers of varying aromas, all of equal intensity. It pairs well with game, marinated beef in sauce, grilled food, green peppers and any kind of cheese.
International Wine Cellar - "Opaque purple. Mineral-accented black raspberry and cherry on the hugely aromatic nose. Sweet, penetrating red and dark berry preserve flavors show excellent depth and energy, with a late note of candied licorice adding a darker tone. The finish features excellent focus and cut, and resonating sweetness.
The Wine Advocate - "More backward and tight, the 2010 St.-Joseph Ste.-Epine obviously possesses power, depth, ripeness and richness. At present, it is dominated by its crushed rock and floral notes as well as its tannins, but it is currently reticent and somewhat austere due to its recent bottling. This should turn out to be a blockbuster, but potential purchasers are advised that it will require 3-4 years of bottle age. It should last for two decades.

Alcohol By Volume GuideMost wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer.
