The wine has a deep garnet-red hue with purple tinges. The nose, as with all good Hermitages, is both intense and complex. On the palate the wine is well-built and its ample volume reveals the fine qualities of its granite terroir, finishing with a refreshing mineral-like edge.
Pair this wine with rare or well-cooked red meat, roasted game, marinated meat dishes and game stews. We recommend opening this bottle between one and three hours before drinking.
"The superb 2011 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes boasts a dense purple color as well as abundant aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, forest floor and pepper, a meaty, viscous texture, sweet tannin and loads of fruit presented in a well-balanced, pure, full-bodied style."

"This shows a lush feel, with velvety structure that lets ample fig, blackberry paste and plum pâte de fruit notes play out. Cocoa, loam and dark tea all flitter through the finish, adding to the inviting feel."
"Lurid purple. Potent, smoke-accented scents of blackberry, cassis and candied violet, with a spicy topnote. Stains the palate with sappy black and blue fruit flavors that become livelier with air. Rich but animated, with excellent finishing power and a big jolt of chewy tannins at the close."
