Winemaker's Notes:

The Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 is dark garnet in color. Aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, violets and mocha. Floral and black fruit notes dominate the palate, with rich jammy fruit to round it out. A big Cabernet Sauvignon with inky fruit and chewy, supple tannins.

Blend: 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot

About Cuvaison Winery:

Cuvaison's Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the winery's Estate owned vineyard, some 1,200 feet up the slopes of Napa Valley’s Mt. Veeder. The schisty, gravelly, well-drained hillside soils severely restrict the yields, producing Lilliputian quantities of solid, jam-packed Cabernet backed by vibrant acidity and fine, mountain tannins. An exceptional site for Cabernet, the estate features well-drained, gravelly soils, a generally southern aspect and an elevation that keeps it, if wind swept, above the fog. The site gives Cuvaison the intense concentration one expects of a hillside vineyard while the soil offers just enough loamy counterpoint to round out those tannins with time.
