About Cuvaison Winery:
Cuvaison's Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the winery's Estate owned vineyard, some 1,200 feet up the slopes of Napa Valley’s Mt. Veeder. The schisty, gravelly, well-drained hillside soils severely restrict the yields, producing Lilliputian quantities of solid, jam-packed Cabernet backed by vibrant acidity and fine, mountain tannins. An exceptional site for Cabernet, the estate features well-drained, gravelly soils, a generally southern aspect and an elevation that keeps it, if wind swept, above the fog. The site gives Cuvaison the intense concentration one expects of a hillside vineyard while the soil offers just enough loamy counterpoint to round out those tannins with time. |
