Winemaker's Notes:

 This Pinot Noir shows bright aromas of cherries and Mandarin orange peel, with a hint of white pepper spice. The flavor profile is a red fruit character of cranberry and additional spices of cinnamon and ginger. Vanilla and chocolate characters, as well as the wonderful acidity associated with the Santa Cruz Mountains terroir contribute to a complex wine with a long and lingering finish.

 Cumbre wines are "The Pinnacle of Santa Cruz Mountains Wine." Cumbre represents Vine Hill Winery's best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from fruit grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. The Cumbre Pinot Noir we create will include Estate, vineyard designate wines Hicks and Raffaelli, and two blended Pinot Noir wines, Godinez and Barrel 31. All wines are made from 100% Santa Cruz Mountains AVA Pinot Noir. The estate Pinot Noir was first made in 2004 and its next vintage is 2009. The chronological gap represents the replanting of 7,000 vines that we concluded in 2007.
