Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The fruit for this wine was sourced from Vineyards within the Heathcote Region. The 2006/2007 growing season experienced yet another relatively dry winter, some spring rains and above average temperatures early in the growing season assisted in an even budburst and excellent shoot growth development, enabling fruit to ripen effectively.

Deep Ruby with a Brilliant Purple Hue this lovely intense Shiraz fruit leaps from the glass. Dark berry fruit, spice and cloves are dominant. There is complexity already evident on this brooding young wine with underlying scents of pepper, provincial herbs and classy French oak.

Critical Acclaim

"Here's a steal: A cool river of red cherry and strawberry richness, tart, gamey and pleasantly old-fashioned in style. The red fruit deepens to darker plum in the finish. "
