Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The vintage is rich, lush and powerful. Mushroom, dark fruit, perfume and spice coat the palate and round out the finish. This is a concentrated, precise Pinot Noir.

Critical Acclaim

"Cooper Mountain’s entry level, the 2009 Pinot Noir Reserve was made entirely from estate vineyards and aged in 32% new oak. Medium ruby red in color, it offers up a pleasing perfume of cedar, brown sugar, cherry cola, and floral notes. Savory on the palate with excellent grip, a sense of elegance, and a bit of underlying structure, this nicely balanced Pinot will provide enjoyment through 2017. "
