Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Conundrum is a true California wine, with grapes sourced from Napa, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties. We often hear the phrase "exotic" when described. It's a fitting portrayal; there is no other wine quite like it.
This unique, non-traditional white wine blend was created to offer full-flavored fruit and enough complexity to match the creative dishes being offered by today's generation of chefs. Conundrum can be served with every course from appetizer to dessert and pairs beautifully with spicy foods and full-flavored Asian cuisine. The "conundrum," or puzzle, of this wine is in guessing which grapes make up the blend.
"Wonderfully effusive, a bouquet of honeysuckle and jasmine gives way to ripe, fleshy peach, pear, tangerine and melon notes. Rich flavors and supple textures are matched by a refreshing acidity. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Muscat Canelli and Semillon."
"An offbeat blend of several white varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. It's a little on the sweet, simple side, with spicy flavors of apricots, honeysuckle flowers, citrus fruits, vanilla bean and gingersnap cookies. Should be pretty good with Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese fare."
Rich, creamy, for all people that like their white wine rich and borderline dessert-like. The flavor is most opulent with the first glass and dissipates a bit later, but still a very enjoyable wine, especially for the summer.
Light & Crisp
Love this wine.
I am not a white wine drinker, but this was a very smooth white wine.
Fruity & Smooth
White Fish > Lemon/Citrus, Cheese > Creamy
Very smooth, rich texture, hint of grapefruit, low acid, sweeter than I remember.
Fruity & Smooth
Tuna > Spicy
Very sweet, almost too sweet.
Very disappointing-will not buy again.
Fruity & Smooth
Fruity, a bit on the sweet side.
