Winemaker's Notes

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carmenere and 5% Merlot.

Hints of concentrated ripe black fruits, leather and graphite dance with flavors of dried fruit and chocolate.

Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in French oak barrels for 14 months, followed by an additional 8 months in the bottle. A noteworthy Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine has a deep red color with great character and finesse. On the palate, the wine has great body, with firm tannins and a long and persistent finish. Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon is an ideal accompaniment to lamb with spicy sauces and full-flavored cheeses.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Pirque Vineyard delivers notes of cigar box, leather, mineral, blackcurrant and blackberry. This leads to an elegant, Bordeaux-like wine with spicy, savory flavors, excellent balance, and a lengthy finish. It will offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2021. "

This could help explain why the climate changes more from east to west than north to south - also why the country has remained phylloxera free....
