Winemaker's Notes:

The color of the wine is deep, dark purple. The wine is rich with dark plum, black currant, and chocolate aromas. On the palate, there are notes of dark plums and spice, generously framed by toasty American oak with a soft and well-structured mouth filling texture.

About Vina Concha y Toro:

In 1986, Rafael Guilisasti of Concha y Toro had a flash of inspiration that would set new precedents and raise the bar for Chilean winemaking forever. Armed with samples of Cabernet Sauvignon from Concha y Toro's Puente Alto vineyard, Cuilisasti traveled to France to meet Emile Peynaud, the father of modern winemaking. Peynaud was impressed and considered the samples to demonstrate the characteristics of a unique terroir. Guilisasti's pilgrimage echoed an equally significant voyage made a century earlier by founder, Don Melchor, who brought back to Chile the first samples of French rootstock. Now in its 22nd vintage, Don Melchor expresses the singular character of Cabernet Sauvignon from Puente Alto and consistently demonstrates Chile's potential to create world-class wines.
