The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Selected Vineyards is a well-balanced wine. It exhibits a rich nose of cherry and plum fruit flavors, with hints of chocolate and vanilla oak. The flavorful palate shows rhubarb, pomegranate and more oak
flavor overtones. The full finish has hints of sweet tobacco.
Pair with tri-tip of beef or rosemary-rubbed filet mignon.
I had a wine party and people thought this was a great sampling (couldn't believe that it was a "smart price"). It was a "red winner". I've purchase it "post wine party" and Hubby and I have enjoyed it for dinner wine. I don't think that you can go wrong here. They've done a nice job and I anticipate even better in the future. Cherry, plum and full bodied.
I just reviewed this wine on my blog, this is a very decent every day wine for less than $9. Check the review out here: http://thecorkscrooge.wordpress.com/2010/01/24/concannon-2007-cabernet/
