The wine exhibits a sweet nose of black fruits, dried herbs, tobacco, spice box, menthol and bay laurel. Medium to full-bodied with moderate tannin, a nicely textured mid-palate and a stylish finish. Will drink well for 10-12 years.
The 1997 Clos du Bois Winemaker's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, elegant wine that will hold its own when paired with grilled meats, roasts and game dishes. Meats served with berry or cherry reduction sauces will be enhanced nicely by its forward fruit flavors.
