Winemaker Notes

The color of this wine is intense—deep ruby purple. Aromas of ripe plums, smoky berry fruits and spice. Juicy red currant flavors on the entry, followed with rich, red cherry, black cherry and blackberry flavors extending to the mid-palate. A long finish with spicy oak and velvety fruit.

Clos LaChance is a family owned and operated winery. Started by Bill and Brenda Murphy (bottom left and bottom middle), they began making Chardonnay sourced from the vineyard planted in the backyard of their Saratoga home. Their winemaking hobby turned into a passion and a few years later, Bill and Brenda founded Clos LaChance winery in San Martin, just 30 minutes south of San Jose Ca. They later hired their two daughters, Kristin (top) and Chery (bottom right) who help run the winery today.
