Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

With bright ruby-red hues and intense aromas of dark fruit, this wine is elegant and complex. The Merlot contributes lush flavors of blackberries and cherries while the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc add structure and a firm backbone. All elements come together in a long, lingering finish.

The grapes for our 2009 Climber Limited Release are sourced from several vineyards in the Napa Valley: the Merlot from Oak Knoll District, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from Oakville and the Cabernet Franc from Calistoga.

The wine was aged in a blend of new and used French Oak barrels for 20 months.
