Winemaker's Notes

The Indian Wells Merlot displays ripe black fruit aromas and jammy flavors typical of Wahluke Slope reds. This is a full bodied, fruity style of warm climate Merlot with a round, soft finish. Wahluke Slope Syrah was added to the blend to enhance the mouthfeel and jammy fruit character. Enjoy it with a hearty pasta – this wine will warm your soul and make any food taste better!

Critical Acclaim

"Smooth, vibrant and appealing for its pure cherry and herb flavors, hinting at tobacco and black olive as the finish rolls on seamlessly. Drink now through 2011. 22,000 cases made."
90 Points

"This is a gem—smoky, substantial, packed with sweet, ripe berries and cherries. It opens broad and flavorful, but there’s much more, a density and a steely spine that carries the wine deeper and pushes it into a finish that adds spice, chocolate, mocha and toast. A very fine value."

A bearable wine, as the cheaper ones go. Not exactly impressive, but I did appreciate the vanilla overtone.

Learn About Merlot
