Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay 2005
Chardonnay
from Columbia Valley, Washington
winemaker's notes:
The 2005 bottling strikes the perfect balance of integrated fruit and oak. This is a soft, creamy Chardonnay with layered fruit characters of apricot, papaya and lemon zest accented by subtle oak nuances.
Food pairings: Crab, poultry, salmon, scallops

I had a glass of this wine with my snow crab pasta at Olive Garden. Definite aromas of citrus on the nose, with an exceptionally smooth body, although I felt that the finish was sharp and abrupt. I believe that this pairs better with gorgonzola cheese or creamy alfredo sauce than with snow crab.
