Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A red ruby color with violet reflections. This youthful release, dark and silky-textured, has rich aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, redcurrants, cherries and raspberries. There are soft smooth tannins and a nice long velvety touch full of dark fruits at the end.

Blend: 50% Cinsault, 30% Syrah, 20% Cabernet-Sauvignon

Critical Acclaim

"Gorgeous on the nose with a blast of fresh red fruit, violets and smoke, Musar's Jeune is unabashed in its youth and verve compared to the more austere Gaston Hochar line. The palate boasts the same deeply concentrated fruit, but with a freshness and acidity that lingers to a smoky, leather-accented finish."
