critical acclaim:
"Tasted blind at the 2007 Bordeaux horizontal in Southwold. The Ducru Beaucaillou 2007 has a rather elegant, understated nose, the type that could get lost in a blind tasting such as this: notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, cedar and a touch of leather, nice definition and finesse. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, very poised and almost Burgundian in its purity towards the finish. Beautifully crafted for the vintage."

The Wine Advocate
"A very powered wine, pushing forward with solid, but always fresh structure and fruit. The wine bursts with ripe jammy fruits, but is also firmly tannic. It combines sweet weight with final extreme, exuberant freshness. "

Wine Enthusiast
"Red-ruby. Nicely ripe aromas for the year: cassis, lead pencil, menthol, minerals and flowers. Then juicy, intense and sharply delineated, with lovely lift to the fla vors of dark berries, minerals and cedar. Silky-sweet wine with lovely aromatic persistence. And very intense for 2007."

International Wine Cellar
"Offers sliced plum on the nose, with flowers and some oak. Medium-bodied, with polished, refined tannins that caress the palate. Builds on the finish. Racy for the vintage. Best after 2014. 10,500 cases made"
