Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot

Dark ruby red in color. Intense and complex nose of red fruits, blackberries, smokey aromas, spices and leather. Rich and round in the mouth with strong tannins and a nice long finish. The 2005 was a spectacular vintage in Bordeaux and this wine will easily age for another 5 years.

The property was acquired in 2000 by Madeleine and Jacques Philippe- both of whom had careers in other areas but decided to pursue their dream of becoming winemakers.
