Superb presentation. Imposing garnet red rode with a purplish crimson meniscus. This subtle, complex 2007 combines hints of red fruit with fresh resin, almost mineral, aromas. It is powerful and fleshy with a structure of subtle, smooth tannins. Lots of flesh on the finish, promising a very auspicious future. A remarkable wine that is modern and sensual for those who can't wait!
"Performing much better from bottle than it did from cask, the sexy, seductive 2007 Dassault represents a St.-Emilion fruit bomb. Deep black cherry fruit intermixed with incense, roasted herb, and forest floor aromas jump from the glass of this dark plum-colored effort. Seductive, generous, and amply endowed, it can be drunk over the next 5-6 years. It is a sleeper of the vintage."
The Wine Advocate
"Aromas of sweet tobacco and blueberry follow through to a medium body, with well-integrated tannins and a silky finish. Refined. Best after 2012. 6,915 cases made."
"Good deep ruby-red. Fruit-driven aromas and flavors of black cherry. Offers good ripeness and intensity, with an enticing sweetness and precision for the year. The finish features sweet, nicely buffered tannins and good persistence. Should offer early pleasure. Range: 85-88"
