Chateau Bellefont Belcier 2005
Bordeaux Red Blends from St-Emilion, Bordeaux, France
ratings pedigree (past vintages):
winemaker's notes:
What a pleasure to be able to discover a thousand subtleties through a wine.
And precisely by tasting the vintages and comparing them, these nuances are easily appreciated. Without a doubt they have a family air, but each year can boast of its own richness.
Should it be drunk young or old ?
Today, it is no longer a crime to drink these wines younger. The tradition, however, is to let the red wines age over a longer period, especially the Saint Émilion and, in particular, the Bellefont Belcie
critical acclaim:
"A marvelous sleeper of the vintage from Dominique Hebrard, this 2005 exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, a smoky, blackberry liqueur-filled nose with hints of licorice, earth, and truffles, full body, powerful flavors, and dramatic, but sweet tannin. Moreover, this beauty is still available at a realistic price. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030.

The Wine Advocate
"Beautiful aromas of crushed blackberry, dried lavender and licorice lead to a full-bodied palate, with supervelvety tannins and a long, long finish. Beautiful and juicy. Superb. Best after 2012. 4,165 cases made.

Wine Spectator
"Good deep red-ruby. Currant, smoke and roast coffee on the expressive nose. Suave and sweet, with a fine-grained texture and enticing inner-mouth perfume to the flavors of redcurrant and tobacco. Finishes with fine tannins and very good length."
