Beautiful deep red/purple robe. Nose of red fruits, floral tones, spices and peppers, and green plums. Intense and straightforward on the palate, with good fruit and roundness. A supple, easy to drink wine with a dry finish.

    Chateau Saint-Florin, France
Chateau Saint-Florin is located in Soussac, on the eastern part of the Entre-Deux-Mers regions. The 80-hectare estate has belonged to the Jolivet family for 4 generations. Jean-Marc and Catherine took over the management of the property in 1981. A dynamic and innovative couple, the Jolivets have modernized and expanded the facility. They are personally involved in each stage of the winemaking - from the viticulture until final bottling.

In 1999, they spearheaded, in association with other local estates, the construction of a water-treatment facility in order to preserve nature. In 2004, the Jolivets were one of the first Bordeaux estates to introduce screw caps.

The estate produces a Bordeaux Red, Bordeaux White and a Rosé. The wines wine medals each year in the Bordeaux and Paris Wine Fairs, and are mentioned in the Guide Hachette. The Bordeaux Rouge 2002 won a Silver Medal in the Paris Wine Fair.

In most of France, wines are named by their place of origin and not by the type of grape (with the exception of Alsace). Just like a red Burgundy is by law, always made of Pinot noir, a red Bordeaux is a blended wine composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Depending on the laws of the village from which the grapes come, the conditions of the vintage and decisions of the winemaker, the blend can be further supported by Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and in rare cases, Carmenere. So popular and repeated has this mix of grape varieties become worldwide, that the term, Bordeaux Blend, refers to a wine blended in this style, regardless of origin.
