Our limestone soil produces Pinot Noir of exceptional character and depth. After vinification, which includes fermenting varying percentages of whole clusters, the wine is pressed into French barrels for aging. The sweetness of ripe berries, the delicate aroma of violets, and a subtle earthiness, intermingle on the palate, presaging the rewards of long-term bottle aging.
Deep ruby color; dense nose of spice, dark fruit, tea & earth. The flavor is of currents, spice, vanilla & wood. But it is dry & food friendly, not bright fruit-juicy as many, lesser, CA Pinots. It is a smooth, complex Burgundian-style heavy weight. VG to EX!
