    Winemaker Notes

This historic property, which formerly belonged to the abbots of Margaux, is divided into two sections. The first is a single 11 acre estate in the village of Saint-Hippolyte, situated on an East facing slope, and thus receives maximum sunlight. The second part covers 12.5 acres in both St. Emilion and Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, and directly borders Chateau Troplong-Mondot. Under the direction of Michel Boutet quality has surged in the last 10 years and this St. Emilion Grand Cru Chateaux is now producing wines of intensity and elegance. In this age of vinous inflation they are remarkably good value.
