Besllum has a deep dark color with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, exotic spices, lavender, mineral, and pain grille. Concentrated with a full body and flavors reminiscent of sweet fruit. There is just enough acidity to carry the flavor through the long, supple finish.
Composition: Carinena 45%, Garnacha 45%, Syrah 10%
"The 2008 Besllum is composed of 45% Garnacha, 45% Carinena, and 10% Syrah aged for 16 months in new French oak. Also deeply colored, it displays an alluring bouquet of wood smoke, exotic spices, incense, lavender, blueberry, and black cherry. In the glass it displays opulence, loads of sweet fruit, and outstanding volume. Give it 2-3 years to fill out and drink it from 2013 to 2023."

Smooth & Supple
For the price it's a steal. Cooking wine? I think not. Perhaps that person favors white Zinfandel. We drink very nice wines, such as Hall and Walt. This reminded me of sobon estates reserve tannat. It's an excellent sipping wine by itself or tasted great with our meal last night. It full bodied and smooth. I tasted lots of great fruit.
3 1/2 stars, good value, overrated, should be a 90.
Big & Bold
May be Carinena grape is the element I do not like but tried the wine with a meal and felt it was far too dry. Shocked it got a 93 from RP, as I love big reds. My opinion is that is was most undrinkable, using the remainder for a sauce. Stuck with one more bottle and will put away for 2 years and hope it is drinkable then.
