Carmel Road's Chardonnays are known for their rich flavors, firm acidity and brilliant varietal flavors. But it is their pronounced minerality that sets these wines apart from their peers throughout the Golden State.
The 2006 is an overtly fruit-forward wine with a rich palate and crisp framework. Lemon sorbet/zest, pear, citrus blossom and sweet vanilla flavors lead to toasted baguette in the finish.
Founded in 1996, Carmel Road's mission is to produce wine showcasing the unique nature of Monterey County terrior. Our debut release, the 1997 Chardonnay, demonstrates the potential of the Monterey County appellation to produce world-class wines.
Located just a few miles over the ridges from the Pacific Ocean, Carmel Road produces wines from vineyards set against the Santa Lucia range and in the Gabilan foothills. Under the care of Winemaker Dan Kleck, the fruit emerges in wines exhibiting both a studied elegance and superb richness.
The largest of California's wine growing regions, the Central Coast produces the majority of California's wine. The district sprawls out, covering most of the vineyard land between San Francisco and Santa Barbara.
