I was dissapointed on this one. I had been really looking forward to this wine and unbalanced is unfortunately the best way to describe it. It has an amazing dark purple color to it, so typical of southen Italy. I like my reds, so that's a plus. The smell was very alcoholic, but had hints of oak and earth. The taste reminded me of plums and beetroot; also very unbalanced and alcoholic. For $14 a bottle I expected a bit more. I believe this wine would do well with further bottle aging.
