Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

As always, a beautiful color with luminous greens. Distinctive Hunter lemongrass/straw aromas as a young wine. Sweet fruit flavors initially on the palate indicating perfect ripeness. Excellent acid structure, long flavours of lime and apple blossom. Perfect in its youth and a wine that will bottle age gracefully.

Critical Acclaim

"This bright, lively white brims with lime, green apple and floral flavors, finishing silky. Refreshing now, but give this time to flesh out. Drink now through 2025."
90 Points

"Pale straw. Honeysuckle, jasmine, fresh pear and honey on the fragrant nose, accented by a touch of chalk dust. Crisp and nervy on the palate, with vibrant lemon-lime and orange pith flavors enlivened by bitter herb notes. Youthfully tight on the finish, with features clean, brisk citrus tones and a late note of quinine."
