Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Pale straw in colour, the wine exhibits aromas of fresh pear, hints of tropical fruit and subtle spice highlights. These characters follow through onto the palate where they are combined with ripe, citrus flavours and an enveloping texture. The palate is lingering and culminates with natural sweetness and balanced acidity.

This classic, easy-drinking Pinot Grigio is ideally suited to a wide range of dishes including baked seasonal fish, Caesar style chicken salads and lightly spiced Asian cuisine. Whilst enjoyed young, this wine will cellar gracefully for up to 3 years. Serve lightly chilled.

Critical Acclaim

"Light and refreshing, with appealing pear and mineral flavors, finishing dry. Drink now. 5,000 cases imported."
