Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

In this wine, green olives and herbaceous aromas with underlying fennel notes dominate the nose. The palate is flavoursome showing a rich concentration of pure Marlborough Sauvignon characters. The fresh capsicum notes are complemented by an oily texture and tantalising minerality, held together by a crisp acidity that leads to a lingering finish.

This wine is a perfect accompaniment for pan-fried herb polenta cakes, roasted red capsicum and sweet onions, basil pesto and roasted tomato relish.

Critical Acclaim

"Overflowing with vivid tropical notes. Pineapple, melon and passion fruit flavors are ripe, refreshing and persistent in the finish, where some lime zest kicks in. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 500 cases imported."
88 Points

"Pale yellow. Grapefruit pith, anise and white pepper on the nose. Dense and ripe, with very good mouth coverage to the grapefruit flavor. Finishes with decent length and a slight sweetness. Easygoing wine with good concentration but only moderate nuance. "
