Winemaker's Notes

Exquisite fruit and spice aromas. On the palate, perfect harmony between structure and elegance: rich, complex and voluptuous. Very good ageing potential.

Critical Acclaim

"Both sweet fruit and oak highlight this concentrated, firmly structured red. The oak dominates now, especially on the finish, but this has sweet fruit and intensity, along with elegance. The potential shows on the finish."
94 Points

"Bright, saturated dark red. Rather low-toned aromas of dark raspberry, plum, chocolate, earth, leather, cinnamon and nutty oak, with a hint of minerality. Dense, smoky and deep, with a slightly high-toned character and considerable ripeness to the reticent but rich fruit and earth flavors. This rather full Volnay is very ripe and stuffed with material but a bit mute today, its broad, chewy tannins calling for patience.
Rating: 90(+?)"
