Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Alcohol By Volume: 12.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Brilliant cherry red. Red fruit aromas, cherry, kirsch with notes of lime and mint. A plump wine with a lot of fruit and a delicate note of wood. Good persistence. Harmonious and well balanced.

Pair with grilled or roasted red meats, light game, poultry and mild cheeses.

I double checked the label and the price point of this wine after the first sip. Wow! It was really delicious and quite versatille.

I can't wait to try the '07. the '06 was smooth and drinkable. All our friends loved it. we went through two cases. I don't like all the sulfites in the u.s wines and usually avoid them. I usually drink non - US produced reds.

Fruit forward, lighter than the Oregon Pinot Noir. Decanted or not it just did not have enough tannins for me.
