Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Ratings Pedigree:

Winemaker's Notes

Intense cherry red color. Remarkable aromatic complexity with memories of black fruit and balsamic and toasted touches. Warm and gentle in the mouth, with soft but persistent tannins in perfect balance with the alcohol.

70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2010 Berola is a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in a combination of American and French oak for ten months. It then spends a year in bottle prior to being released. A sleeper of the vintage, it reveals a deep ruby/purple color along with aromas of blackberries, black cherries, licorice and lavender. Full-bodied, rich, nicely textured and impressively pure, it can be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years. "
91 Points

"Bright purple. Powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry and peppery spices. Displays vibrant flavors of smoky dark berries, white pepper and candied flowers, with a hint of candied rose in the background. Rich but graceful blend with a smoky, floral finish."

Learn About Borsao Map ItMap It

Founded in 1958 in the town of Borja, called Borsao in the 4th century B.C., this winery represents what can be done with Garnacha, a grape that is not well appreciated by the Spanish press. Through meticulous selection, work in the fields and at reception time in the winery, modern winemaking produces this highly fruity wine. One of the best examples of the region known as "The Garnacha land of Spain", the lower part of the Ebro River.

Learn About Other Spain

The third largest country in production, Spain ranks first in land under vine. Diversity and innovation are the key factors bringing Spain back into the world wine market. The most popular red varieties of Spain include Tempranillo and Garnacha (Grenache). Whites don't garner quite as much recognition, but there are some regional varieties not to be missed, like Albarino...

There are a multitude of grape varieties throughout the world, however, in a Darwinian sense, survival of the fittest only brings us wines made from grapes that can adapt to changing climates and winemaking techniques. Notable Facts Our other red wines primarily consists of...
