Dark inky garnet black with purple edges and nice legs. A fresh and pleasant fruit explosion on the nose, dark berries, even a touch of raspberry, and a little green herb. On the tongue, medium bodied, quite light and subdued at first, despite the dark color and rich nose, but opens up rapidly. The fruit is delicious, but not at all overpowering, with blackberry which is matched by nice tannins and moderate, yet juicy balanced acid, with a touch of coffee/chocolate tofee. Not warm or hot at all, very refreshing. Hits all the bells, even throwing in a little vanilla, white pepper and leather tones. Medium-long finish is respectable for this price. Very drinkable and I think it will evolve quite nicely for a while, but is delicious and very drinkable now. Love it. Will definitely buy more at this price. Excellent cellar defender.
