The Pedro Romero Bodegas were founded in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in 1860 by Vicente Romero Carranza. From their very beginnings, when they bought mature wines produced following the Solera method to set up a bodega in the traditional Jerez style, they have been involved in the harvesting of grapes as well as the production, maturing, commercialisation and sale of wines.
Pedro Romero is owned one hundred per cent by the Romero family, successors to the grandchildren of the founder: Pedro, Aurora and Fernando Romero Ambrosse. As such, it is one of the few Spanish businesses which can claim to have been in the same hands through six generations, without any outside ownership.
