The Blockheadia Zinfandel is coming from multiple vineyards in both Lodi and the Dry Creek Valley. When the two regions unite in the bottle the layers of complexity come alive...and then blending the blocks of Zinfandel, Carignane and Petite Sirah together - just think of the velvety flavors and how elegant it feels in the mouth.
Cariganan is traditionally grown to blend with granache, mouvdre and cinsaut, but in California it grows ideally in regions with "degree days" comparable to the Rhone Valley and this is where we find wonderful Zinfandel growing. A little Petite Sirah, which is the Durif grape was picked ripe and lends to this blend intense color and silky tannins. We're blending fools !
