Fruity & Smooth

Light to medium bodied wines with lots of juicy fruit, typically medium acid and medium oak.

Rich & Creamy

Alcohol By Volume: 13.0%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Big House White is a crisp yet round wine with a floral nose, accentuated by honeysuckle, litchi, and a bit of a tropical fruit cocktail.  A virtual potpourri of fruits including cantaloupe, peach, apricot, and lychee.  The finish is fairly long with a nice apricot character.

Critical Acclaim

"Effusively fragrant, with pretty orange blossom, honeysuckle and fresh citrus zest notes that give way to orange sherbet, yellow raisin and Key lime flavors. Wonderfully creamy and refreshing, this lingers on the finish. Malvasia Bianca, Muscat Canelli, Viognier, Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Grigio. Drink now."

Didn't have any expectations when I purchased this wine. Was I in for a pleasant surprise. I'm not a huge fan of white wine, but I enjoyed this one very much. And for the price, it's a real sleeper.

Learn About Big House Map ItMap It

The Big House wines were born of the notion that the California climate is quite hospitable to the rollicking, sun loving grapes of Mediterranean France, Italy and Spain. Big House has found that by blending, rather than relying upon a single variety, they can create far more complex, rich wines that elegantly match a very wide variety of cuisine, from pizza, to BBQ ribs to roast chicken.
