Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The Bieler Pere et Fils Rose displays a light, bright cranberry color in the glass. In addition to the usual raspberry, cherry, and wild strawberry red fruit aromas, there's a citrusy (grapefruit) and slightly floral note with the important underlying savory structure of lavender, grass and herbs de Provence.

Blend: 55% Syrah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Grenache, 3% Cinsault, 2% Rolle

Critical Acclaim

"(55% syrah, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 20% grenache): Light orange. Fresh citrus fruits and strawberry on the delicately perfumed nose and palate. Silky and open-knit, boasting good clarity and lift thanks to a bright mineral quality. Closes with good cut, a touch of orange zest and clinging white pepper and floral qualities. I suspect that this lively, extremely easy-to-drink rosé would be a great match with light, vegetable-based pasta dishes or young cheeses."
