Les Granges is a supple and velvety wine that can be enjoyed in its youth. It is a fresh, juicy Chinon that is fine match for pork and for richer fish dishes.
Winemaking: The grapes are picked by hand towards the end of the harvest so as to get maximum maturity. Fermentations are at cool temperatures in stainless steel vats. The Baudrys do not look for great extraction in this soft and fruity wine.
Baudry's style exemplifies rich, precise fruit picked at perfect ripeness levels and vinified cleanly using state-of-the-art equipment.
Bottling is on the estate in the spring.
Soils: Sand and gravel on the alluvial terraces of the Vienne river
Vines: Six hectares planted between 1985 and 1988.
Yields: between 40 and 50 hl/ha after debudding.
