Winemaker's Notes

The vineyard sites in the southern alluvial plains of Russian River Valley nearby the ocean, which results in cooling fog coming through the Petaluma Gap both in the morning and the evening, along with afternoon breezes, helping to soften the effects of the warm sun. The combination of the vigor rootstock and alluvial soil, stress control of the vines, and the cool coastal climate, create a long growing season with small, concentrated, flavorful berries.

Having been a long time fan of Belle Glos (Claark & Telephone Vineyard) I bought a bottle of their new release of Dairyman. It was awful. The cherry favor was over the top and tasted much like cherry cough syrup. I was so very disappointed. Where was the balanced fruit, the lovely aromatic tones, the delightful Pinot? And i live in the Sonoma wine country with an abundance of great wines. For me, it was a waste of good monies but such a disappointment :(((
