An excellent red wine tending towards dark red with a slightly grassy bouquet and a full taste. It improves with slight aging and is universally recognized as an ideal accompaniment to roast meats.
AREA OF PRODUCTION: The Piave DOC are of the Veneto Region of Italy.
GRAPE VARIETY: Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon.
VINIFICATION: 8 days of maceration at a temperature of 73-75 degrees.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 11.5% by volume.
COLOR: Ruby red, with tendency to deepen and orange reflections with age.
BOUQUET: Vinous, intense and characteristic, and with aging exudes a pleasing ethereal bouquet.
TASTE: Dry, sapid, robust, proportionately tannic, harmonious, austere.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve at room temperature. Uncork at least two to three hours before serving. Should be served during the first or second year after the harvest.
ACCOMPANIMENT: Most roast meats, game, and heavier sauces.
