Predominantly Sangiovese with small
percentage of noble French varietals. Deep and intense mauve red color. Gentle
aromas of vanilla, tobacco and coffee, with
hints of cherry jam and prunes. Harmonious
with soft, well-balanced tannins. Persistent
finish and a great potential for aging. Perfect with red meats, wild game and aged cheeses.
"Attractive deep garnet hue. Fresh plum and blueberry aromas with notes of coffee bean and leather. Tart black cherry fruit with dusty, flinty tannins and a defined minerality. Lengthy finish shows great staying power. "
The Wine News
"Belnero is a new product from Castello Banfi that offers a pretty aromatic ensemble of blackberry, plums, prunes, wet earth, tobacco and spice. There's a mature element to the fruit but it’s nicely integrated with the wine's fruity freshness and acidity. This pretty Sangiovese-based wine shows many of the lovely characteristics of Brunello di Montalcino."
