Winemaker's Notes

Amazing inky, ruby/brick color, an indicator of the depth of this wine. Avalon's Napa Valley Cabernet displays aromas of juicy plums, boysenberries and earthy minerality. Caramel, molasses and vanilla notes from oak aging balance and frame the fruit flavors. Oak aging additionally adds weight on the palate. Napa flavors show through with red raspberries and quintessential dark cherries. The tannins are sandy and fine. This spacious Cabernet benefits from decanting to bring out its rich flavors and expansive palate.

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
