Winemaker's Notes

The nose shows lovely rosehip, black cherry and black currant, with deep wood and vanilla spice. The wine has flavors of bing cherry and black fruits with a delicacy and finesse that is appealing and reminiscent of the structure and elegance of a great Bordeaux. The full fruit finish, supple, weighty tannins and long finish add to the complexity of this wine.

This is a fabulous wine, especially for the price! The mountain fruit is concentrated and rich. I get a lot of boysenberry, black cherry, plum, etc... The balance is excellent! So many Napa Valley cabs are much too fruit forward (for my taste)and lack acidity. I prefer this Atlas Peak over many others that are over twice the price! This rich and balanced wine pairs beautifully with food, especially a steak.

Learn About Atlas Peak Map ItMap It

Atlas Peak was established in 1987. Over time it became clear that Atlas Peak's most valuable hidden resource was literally underfoot: the elevation of its vineyards. The grapes growing at high elevation, and above the natural fog line, experience much lower daytime temperatures than those on the valley floor, allowing the grapes to stay cool while gaining maximum sun exposure. As...

Learn About Napa Valley

It's hard not to think of Napa Valley when thinking of California wines. The region is, after all, the one that brought world recognition to California wine making. The area was settled by a few choice wine families in the 1960's who bet that the wines of the area would grow and flourish. They were right. The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...

Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
