Rich, brilliant ruby red. The aroma is sensationally intense, with notes of ripe red fruit and delicate hints of vanilla. Full bodied, rich, dry with a long finish.
Sangiovese 70%, Sagrantino 15%, Merlot 15%
"Layers of herbs and plummy fruit leather turn to layers of crushed rock as tannic intensity takes over this wine. A young, mineral tough, this is structured to age or to serve with braised beef cheese."

"The 2007 Montefalco Rosso is simply beautiful in this vintage. Silky, ripe tannins frame an expressive core of red berries, flowers and tobacco. The wine reveals gorgeous length and a refined, understated finish. Readers who enjoy more tertiary nuance may want to cellar this for a few years. In my experience Caprai's Montefalco Rosso peaks between ages eight to ten. Still, it is impossible not to admire the wine today. This is a terrific effort from Marco Caprai. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017.
