Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This is a very sophisticated and pure Blanc des Blancs. Notice aromas of citrus blossom, pear brioche, honey with a modicum of quince paste. The wine smells of creamy texture!

The flavor is supple yet fruit juicy centered. The texture is creamy yet balanced on a delightful mineral edge. Fruit flavors of Meyer lemon and Anjou pear are framed with a lovely essence of hibiscus blossom. Penultimate balance abides. The finish is long lasting of pear, honey, and a touch of yeasty coconut.

Critical Acclaim

"Bright and spicy, this is crisp in texture and taut, with ginger and clove overtones to the pear flavors, lingering easily."

Go for the bubbles! Argyle makes good stuff in general, but their bubbly is consistently fantastic. You don't even need a special occasion to crack this stuff. It's Monday, right? Celebrate with great bubbly!

Learn About Vintage

Vintage Champagne and Sparkling Wines Vintage Champagne is made in particularly good years with optimum weather and the best grape selection. Some houses, like Dom Perignon, only make vintage Champagne, so they do not produce a wine every year and have no non-vintage bottlings. What makes vintage Champagne better? Well, status for one - many vintage Champagnes are...
