Winemaker's Notes:
Our 26-acre Red Hills Estate vineyard is a gentle south-facing slope ranging in elevation between 400 and 600 feet in the heart of the Dundee Hills AVA. On basaltic, Jory soils, it produces one of our finest vineyard designated wines. The vineyard contains 18-year old plantings of self-rooted Pommard clones as well as Dijon clones planted up to 4,800 vines per acre and is meticulously farmed utilizing sustainable practices, ensuring the highest possible fruit quality.
This wine lures with an inviting perfume of bluefruits and floral notes, manuka honey, clove and allspice. The palate is a mouthwatering amalgam of black cherry and blackberry with hints of exotic sandalwood, star anise and fresh korinjte cinnamon. This is a wine of integrity; alluring in its vibrancy, purity and focus, balanced in flavor and texture. From the attack, which is smooth and compelling, to the succulent midpalate and crescendo of a finish, this wine is a harmonious whole that keeps on giving.
