The Antica Napa Valley 2010 Chardonnay is charming for its delicacy, freshness, and finesse. The wine's natural acidity and minerality is wonderfully balanced with enticing flavors of white peach, apricot, apple and pear with subtle oak touches. The finish is elegant, expressive and persistent.
"The 2010 Chardonnay is quite a bit brighter and more focused than the 2009. Lemon peel, flowers, spices and crushed rocks are some of the notes that flow from this taut, mineral-driven wine. Hints of lemon, mint and jasmine reappear on the crisp, delineated finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020."
The Wine Advocate
"A big improvement over the ’09, this shows increased mastery of the grapes, which come from the estate on Atlas Peak. Fashioned in the Burgundian style, this has some new oak and plenty of sur lie character, with rich, ripe flavors of pineapple, golden mango and yellow apricot and firm minerality. Drink now with lobsters, crabs, scallops and similar rich fare."
"From the Antinori family's vineyard on Atlas Peak, this grows at 1,400 feet in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. It's a gentle Chardonnay, with scents of chamomile and wheat sheaf, the pale herb flavors lingering with softness. Try it with roast arctic char and creamed spinach."
