Made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso hand-harvested from younger vines in the Altesino and Velona estate vineyards. The must remains in contact with the skins for 7-10 days. After fermentation, the wine is aged in large Slovenian oak barrels for eight months.
This classic Rosso offers a brilliant ruby-red color with intoxicating aromas of ripened blackberries and dark cherries. On the palate, the wine is round, rich and well-balanced with a fruit-forward profile coupled with hints of leather. Recommended with pasta with meat sauces, and hearty game or beef casseroles.
